Course Descriptions

The aim of this course is to develop students’ competence and confidence in creating viable businesses with high potentials for new value addition and high income. The course is designed to enable students achieve economic independence after graduation. Its main goal is to help makes students develop an innovative business idea. By the end of the course, students will be able to start and manage businesses at micro or family level. They will also be able to grow ventures capable of generating employment and better utilization of resources.

Objectives

    • To develop the innovative idea of students and equip them with skills necessary to start-up and run a business successfully;
    • To provide a hand-on, practical guidance to discover and understand critical aspects of entrepreneurship for venture creation and growth;
    • To help students to acquire practical skills from designated fields for job or venture creation;
    • To facilitate interaction between students, entrepreneurs and existing resources
    • To equip students with problem solving mindset

Mode of Delivery

This course will be taught using Design Thinking approach. Contemporary business growth models and best practices in business management will be used by the facilitators. Training manuals on each skill would be produced to provide some insights and guide to the students.

  • Grouping of Students based on designated areas of interest
  • Business Plan Pitching (coaching by facilitator and presentation by students).
  • Practical Training on Chosen area of interest for Each Group

ASSESSMENTS

Assessment of the program would be by grouping students into skill area of their interest available in the Centre, UDUS or any of the CED-UDUS Collaborating entities.

 Group Practical Project:                 40%

Group pitching Presentation:         20%

Documenting Business Plan (individual): 40%
