Dear Esteemed Guests,

I am delighted to extend a warm welcome as you embark on a virtual journey into the Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto Centre for Entrepreneurship Development (CED-UDUS). This website serves as a dynamic portal, offering a glimpse into the wealth of opportunities our center presents.

In a world marked by ceaseless change, adaptability, innovation, and entrepreneurship have become paramount. Recognizing this, UDUS is passionately committed to equipping its students and stakeholders with the indispensable skills, knowledge, and entrepreneurial spirit vital for thriving in our ever-evolving economic landscape.

Under this transformative mission, CED-UDUS has undergone a revitalization. We now offer an array of programs, each meticulously crafted to empower individuals at every juncture of their academic and professional journeys.

Our offerings include:

  1. Comprehensive Entrepreneurship Training: This program equips individuals with the tools to navigate today’s dynamic business environment successfully.
  2. Skills Acquisition Initiatives: Designed to empower participants with practical skills for self-employment, providing pathways to financial independence.
  3. Students Microbusiness Scheme: An initiative encouraging job creation by nurturing aspiring student entrepreneurs in their venture-launching endeavors.
  4. Graduates Entrepreneurship Scheme: An invaluable opportunity for our alumni to kickstart their entrepreneurial journeys and contribute to economic growth.
  5. Staff Agribusiness Empowerment: Acknowledging that civil servants are legally permitted to engage in agribusiness endeavors, offering both supplementary income and a pathway to financial security in retirement.

While we have always excelled in our traditional roles of Teaching, Research, and Community Services, UDUS has embarked on a transformational journey that complements these roles with a renewed emphasis on business development. This strategic shift underscores our dedication to fostering not only academic excellence but also holistic, real-world preparedness among our students, staff, and the broader community.

Meanwhile, with these programs by CED-UDUS among others, Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto, has proudly joined the ranks of Entrepreneurial Universities, in which in addition to our traditional roles of Teaching, Research, and Community Services, emphasis is now being placed on business development as a potent instrument for economic empowerment. This strategic shift reflects our commitment to fostering not only academic excellence but also holistic, real-world preparedness among our students, staff, and the broader community.
